“Glory To Glory” traces Christian transformation through the saving work of Christ. The song begins with the incarnation, describing the one who entered human life and shared human pain. It then moves to the cross, where shame is borne and salvation is secured. Against that sequence, the recurring phrase “from glory to glory” expresses ongoing change: those brought into Christ’s kingdom are no longer defined by slavery or by the past.
The later sections look toward resurrection victory and the day of seeing Christ face to face. Holiness becomes the anthem of that future hope, while death is presented as a defeated enemy rather than a final threat. The title and chorus closely echo 2 Corinthians 3:18, which speaks of believers being transformed from one degree of glory to another. Philippians 2 also supports the song’s movement from Christ taking human form to his exaltation.
