William Murphy - You Reign Lyrics

You Reign is a declaration song that proclaims God's rule over every name. The chorus repeats that my God reigns, our God reigns, and that He reigns above every name, with power and majesty, dominion and authority. The bridge adds that He reigns over circumstances and has given another chance, and the vamp repeats You reign and You still reign.

The lyrics echo Psalm 93:1 and Psalm 97:1 on the Lord reigning, Philippians 2:9-11 on the name above every name, Daniel 7:14 on dominion and authority, and Revelation 19:6 on the Lord God Almighty reigning. Because the text is short and repeated, the song works as a congregational declaration, with a vamp that can be extended as the worship leader prompts. Its tone is triumphant and personal, moving between my God and our God.
