Meaning & Inspiration
Welcome Into This Place is a short prayer inviting the Holy Spirit into a gathering. The opening repeats that the worshipers just want God, and the next section asks the Holy Spirit to fall in this place, with a desire for more of Him and to be filled with His power. The verse recalls that God desires to dwell in the praises of His people, so hands and hearts are lifted and praise offered to His name.
The refrain simply says "Welcome into this place." The theme draws on Psalm 22:3 where God is enthroned on the praises of His people, Acts 2:4 on being filled with the Spirit, Psalm 63:1 on longing, and Psalm 100:4 on entering with praise. Brief, repetitive and invitational, the song gives a congregation space to wait on God and respond. Its simplicity makes it suitable for the start of a worship time or as a bridge between songs.
