Every valley shall be filled
Mountains be made low
Every eye will see Jesus

Meaning & Inspiration
“The King Is Coming” by Sunmisola Agbebi is a short declaration of Christ’s coming and the response of the nations. It opens with “Every valley shall be filled, mountains be made low,” a line that closely follows Isaiah 40:4, where the way is prepared for the glory of the Lord to be revealed. The same prophecy is applied to John the Baptist in Luke 3:4-6.
The next lines, “Every eye will see Jesus, every knee must bow, every tongue confess Jesus the Son of God,” echo Philippians 2:10-11, where every knee bows and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord. The mention of every eye seeing recalls Revelation 1:7.
The bridge adds a pledge of mission: the singers say they will not stop until the nations proclaim Jesus. That commitment is close to the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19. The lyric closes by repeating the name Jesus and the announcement that the King is coming. Its message is expectation and a call to spread the news before He returns.
