Lyrics
[Verse]
Lord, I cannot be beside them
Every minute of the day
There are places I can't follow
There are things I cannot change
So I bring them to you, Lord
And I ask you from my heart
Watch them when I'm not around
And keep them where you are
[Chorus]
Lord, keep my children safe
Keep them in your care
Guide them when they're on their own
And meet them everywhere
Give them wisdom for their choices
Give them courage when they're afraid
Lord, keep my children safe
And guide them day by day
[Verse]
When they leave the house each morning
I don't know what they will face
Give them strength to make good choices
And surround them with your grace
When they face a difficult moment
Help them know which way to turn
Let the lessons that I've taught them
Be the ones they always learn
[Chorus]
Lord, keep my children safe
Keep them in your care
Guide them when they're on their own
And meet them everywhere
Give them wisdom for their choices
Give them courage when they're afraid
Lord, keep my children safe
And guide them day by day
[Bridge]
I know I cannot walk each mile
Or shield them from each storm
But I know the one who can, Lord
And I trust you
To keep them strong
[Verse]
Wherever life may take them
Whatever they may face
Let them always find their way
Back to your loving grace
[Chorus]
Lord, keep my children safe
Keep them in your care
Guide them when they're on their own
And meet them everywhere
Give them wisdom for their choices
Give them courage when they're afraid
Lord, keep my children safe
And guide them day by day
Their precious gifts you've given me
So I place them in your care
Lord, keep my children safe
And always meet them there
