Mary and Joseph take their baby,
Jesus, to present Him at the Temple
and fulfill the law of the Scriptures.
They approach one of the priests.
From a distance, Simeon recognizes
who Jesus is and runs to them.
JOSEPH: We are Mary and Joseph
of Nazareth
We've come to present our first
born son
SIMEON: Praise be to God, I
recognize Him
He is the Holy One
I am Simeon, led by God
I've been appointed
To bless this Child revealed
To be The Anointed
Though a sword will pierce
your soul
You have been entrusted with
His care
Through Him hearts will
be revealed
And men will speak against
Him everywhere
