Meaning & Inspiration
Somos Tus Hijos is a Spanish-language song about adoption into God's family. The first verse marvels at the Father's love that calls believers children of God, and says that He sent Jesus to the cross to redeem them. The second turns to infinite mercy that surpasses understanding, asking how a rebel could become a child.
The chorus declares the identity directly: "Somos los hijos del Señor" means "we are children of the Lord," adopted, washed in His own blood, with thanks given. The last verse says anguish and pain may attack but joy remains because they have been bought and belong to the Lord. These lines follow 1 John 3:1, Romans 8:15-17, Ephesians 1:5-7 and 1 Peter 1:18-19. The wording is plain and repetitive, which makes the song easy to learn, and its tone is thankful and assured.
