Meaning & Inspiration
I'm Calling Out is a song about calling on God whose faithfulness remains through change. The first verse describes a world filled with change, things that cannot be explained and a path from peaks of joy to valleys of pain, with the refrain that His faithfulness remains. The second describes strength drained and hope waning, but God always near to lift again.
The chorus responds by calling out to the One who called the singer, holding on to the One who holds, and seeking the One who came and sought the singer in sin. That reflects Lamentations 3:22-23, Psalm 23:4, Luke 19:10 and Hebrews 13:8. Direct and prayerful, the song moves from troubled circumstances to confidence in God's faithfulness, and the repeated lines give a congregation easy words to hold on to.
