New Creation Church - I See Grace Lyrics
Lyrics
Jesus My help
I call out Your name
I cast my cares on You
Jesus my hope
my tower of strength
my faith has found in You
I see You pierced
wounded for me
when I look to the cross I see
I see grace
sealed by your sacrifice
I see love
reaching for me
Precious blood
washes and sanctifies
Healing flows
setting me free
I see grace
Bearer of sin
Afflicted and tried
You paid redemption's price
Bearing my curse
You set me on high
Your death has brought me life
I see You pierced
wounded for me
when I look to the cross I see
I see grace
sealed by Your sacrifice
I see love
reaching for me
Precious blood
washes and sanctifies
Healing flows
setting me free
I see grace

Meaning & Inspiration
I see You pierced. Does the image actually hold up when the guilt feels physical, like that moment the iron hit the wood or the way the temple curtain tore open when the air went thin? I don't know, sometimes it feels like just words, but then I remember how the weight of the whole history of wreckage got dumped onto one man who didn't fight back or even try to run away. "Bearing my curse" is a massive claim, honestly, because if that really happened, then the internal noise about not being good enough should be quieted, yet I keep looping back to my own mess instead of looking at the wood. Maybe I’m just dense, or maybe the mind likes holding onto the shame because it feels safer than being washed clean by something I didn’t earn and can’t explain. "Precious blood" is a jagged thing to think about while standing in a room with clean carpets and coffee cups. Actually, wait, if the debt is gone, why does the ledger in my head still have ink on it?
It feels impossible.
