With the fire that unites us
With the fire that ignites us
By your spirit come and make us one
We are filled with expectations
For a holy revelation
We are praying Father make us one
We are awakening to truth
To the things we never knew
Ooh help us love like you
Come and fill our hearts
Come and fill our minds
Come and fill our souls
Holy spirit
Come and fill our hearts
Come and fill our minds
Come and fill our souls
Holy spirit (ooh)
With the passion for our brothers
We will love one another
By your spirit come and make us one
Oh we are tired of tradition
That is void of true conviction
Ooh, Jesus show us how it's done
We are awakening to truth
To the things we never knew
Ooh help us love like you (Ooh)
Come and fill our hearts
Come and fill our minds
Come and fill our souls
Holy spirit
Come and fill our hearts
Come and fill our minds

Meaning & Inspiration
“Make Us One” is a communal prayer for unity shaped by the life of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The repeated requests for the Spirit to fill hearts, minds, and souls frame unity as God’s work rather than mere agreement. Love among brothers, cleansing through Christ’s blood, renewed perception, and freedom from empty tradition all support the central plea for a community that reflects divine love.
The song closely echoes Jesus’ prayer in John 17:20-23 that his followers may be one. Its appeal for Pentecostal filling also corresponds with Acts 2:1-4, where the gathered believers receive the Holy Spirit, while the emphasis on loving one another recalls John 13:34-35. Repetition gives the lyrics the character of sustained corporate intercession: “make us one,” “revive us,” and “come and fill” become linked petitions. Naomi Raine’s performance centers spiritual renewal on reconciliation, shared holiness, and active love. The result is a worship prayer that seeks not uniformity, but unity made visible through the Spirit’s transforming presence.
