I know I'm a child and I may not know very much
But I know the word of God is true
And if you read your bible, you'll have little room for doubt
Because serving Him is really seen from the inside out, inside out

Inside out
Inside out
You must serve my Jesus, from the inside out
Inside out
Inside out
You must serve my Jesus, from the inside out
Lead repeats
I know I'm a child and I may not know very much
But I know the word of God is true
And if you read your bible, you'll have little room for doubt
Because serving Him is really seen from the inside out, inside out
Chorus repeats
Inside out
Inside out
You must serve my Jesus, from the inside out
Inside out
Inside out
You must serve my Jesus, from the inside out
Chorus
I'll serve Him, I'm gonna clap my hands
I'll serve Him, I'm gonna pat my feet
I'll serve Him, I'm gonna shout for joy
I'll serve Him, With my heart I'll serve
With my heart I'll serve
With my heart I'll serve
I'll serve Him

Meaning & Inspiration
Inside Out is a children's song about serving Jesus from the heart. The lead verse has a child say they may not know very much but know the word of God is true, and that reading the Bible leaves little room for doubt because serving Him is seen from the inside out. The chorus repeats that Jesus must be served from the inside out.
The final section lists actions of service, clapping hands, patting feet and shouting for joy, and ends with a promise to serve with the heart. The idea of inner service matches 1 Samuel 16:7 on the Lord looking at the heart, Colossians 3:23 on working heartily, 1 Timothy 4:12 on young believers, and Psalm 47:1 on clapping hands. The lead and chorus format and the actions make the song easy for young singers to join and move to, and its tone is bright and encouraging.
