Lyrics

Mambo yamebadilika, mambo yamebadilika
Ukieleza mambo yangu eleza ya sasa
Mambo yangu si vile, neema ameniona
Mambo yamebadilika eleza ya leo

Mambo yamebadilika, mambo yamebadilika
Ukieleza mambo yangu eleza ya sasa

Haa, wewe ni kila kitu Yesu
Naa naa naah nimetamwa na mimi
Mungu amenitoa mbali na mimi
Wakati kuzimu ilipanga kila siku nilie
Hivyo mbingu ilipanga nami nifurahi

Nilipochimbiwa shimoni nizame nisitoke tena
Hivyo mbingu ilipanga nitatoka namna gani
Ni vile hukujua ninapendwa na Mungu
Hukutambua nami nimefarijiwa
Ulieleza mabaya kila ulipopita
Naomba na leo tangaza haya mema
Waambie watu Mungu si mwanadamu
Mwambie watu amejawa na huruma
Mwambie Mungu ni wa wote kweli
Hana upendeleo kabisa
Usiwaambie watu mambo mabaya mabaya
Jifunze kusema yaliyo mema

Mambo yamebadilika, mambo yamebadilika
Ukieleza mambo yangu eleza ya sasa

Usiwaambie watu yule ni masikini
Waambie sasa amebarikiwa
Usiwaambie watu ule ni mama mjane tu
Waambie Yesu ni mume wa wajane
Usiwaambie ule ni mtoto yatima tu
Waambie Mungu ni Baba wa yatima
Usiwaambie watu yule ni mgonjwa namjua
Waambie Mungu anaponya kila kitu...

Mambo yamebadilika, mambo yamebadilika
Ukieleza mambo yangu eleza ya sasa

Meaning & Inspiration

“Mambo Yamebadilika” is a testimony of changed circumstances attributed to God’s grace. The refrain asks that an old account of suffering be replaced by a present account of blessing. Its verses contrast sorrow with joy, humiliation with comfort, sickness with healing, and social labels with the dignity God gives. This makes the song both personal celebration and a correction of speech that confines people to their past troubles.

The lyric also widens its concern to widows, orphans, poor people, and those who are ill. God is praised as compassionate, impartial, and available to all rather than only to the favored. That description closely reflects biblical language about God as defender of widows and father to the fatherless. The repeated change from former pain to present hope may also be read alongside Paul’s language of new creation in Christ. Throughout, the emphasis remains on grace: the changed story is not presented as self-made success but as evidence of divine mercy.
