Lyrics

I love You, Lord, with all my heart

I love You, Lord, with all my soul

I give my all, my all in all

I love You, Lord, with all my heart

I walk by faith, I walk with You, I endure the rugged road

I walk by faith, I walk with You, I won’t fail the rugged trail

I walk by faith, I walk with You, till I reach the other shore

I walk by Faith, I walk with You

I worship You with all my heart

I worship You with all my soul

I offer You my all in all

I worship You with all my heart

I walk by faith, I walk with You, I endure the rugged road

I walk by faith, I walk with You, I won’t fail the rugged trail

I walk by faith, I walk with You, till I reach the other shore

I walk by Faith, I walk with You

I thank You, Lord, for everything

I thank You, Lord, for the life You bring

I bless You, Lord, I rejoice and sing

I thank you, Lord, for everything

I walk by faith, I walk with You, I endure the rugged road

I walk by faith, I walk with You, I won’t fail the rugged trail

I walk by faith, I walk with You, till I reach the other shore

I walk by Faith, I walk with You

I praise in awe to Glory Land

I serve with joy till my time is done

I spread The News, Thy Kingdom come

I walk by Faith, I walk with You

I walk by faith, I walk with You, I endure the rugged road

I walk by faith, I walk with You, I won’t fail the rugged trail

I walk by faith, I walk with You, till I reach the other shore

I walk by Faith, I walk with You

I walk by faith, I walk with You, I endure the rugged road

I walk by faith, I walk with You, I won’t fail the rugged trail

I walk by faith, I walk with You, till I reach the other shore

I walk by Faith, I walk with You…. I walk by Faith, I walk with You

Meaning & Inspiration

I’ve been sitting here with this song, specifically that line about enduring the rugged road. It’s hard to ignore how much it leans into the idea of 2 Corinthians 5:7, that whole concept of walking by faith and not by sight. There’s something heavy but also kind of stabilizing about that, especially when things feel uncertain. It pulls at that part of me that wants to be sure of every step, even though the Bible constantly points to a way of living that relies on something—or Someone—I can't physically see. It’s a simple thought, but it keeps circling back to whether my faith is actually built on trust in Him or just a stubborn refusal to turn back.

When I hear the bit about walking until I reach the other shore, it makes me think about perseverance. Scripture talks so much about running the race and keeping the faith, but it’s easy to read that and forget how messy the middle part—the rugged trail—actually is. I find myself wondering if the song is maybe a little too confident when it says, I won’t fail the rugged trail. Is that true? Humans fail all the time, and Peter certainly did when he took his eyes off Jesus. Maybe the hope isn't in my own ability to not fail, but in the fact that He’s the one actually holding the leash, so to speak. If it’s all on me to finish the trail without tripping, I’m not sure how much peace I can really find in that.

Still, there’s an honesty in wanting to give my all, even if I know I’m not always capable of doing that perfectly. It feels like the song is trying to hold onto the Great Commandment, loving with all heart and soul, while admitting the path isn't easy. It’s funny, I want to believe that my walk is defined by the destination, but the song brings me back to the daily struggle of the road itself. I’m left wondering if the comfort I feel listening to this is coming from the right place, or if I’m just finding security in the rhythm of the words instead of the reality of my own weakness.
