Lyrics
Verse 1
Love is patient, love is kind
It has no arrogance or pride
Seeks the good of others first
Keeps no record of wrong or hurt
It finds no joy in wickedness
But rejoices in the truth
Through it all it will endure
Love will never fail
Chorus
Love will never, never fail
Love will never, never fail
Love will never, never fail
Love will never fail
Verse 2
Though all prophecy will cease
Though all knowledge, it will fade
Oh, an end will come to speech
Even death will pass away
We will see You face to face
And Your mercy will prevail
Faith and hope they will remain
Love will never fail
Chorus
Love will never, never fail
Love will never, never fail
Love will never, never fail
Love will never fail
Outro
Never, never
Oh, love will never fail
Never, never
Oh, love will never fail
Never, never
Oh, love will never fail
Never, never
Oh, love will never fail
Oh, love will never fail
Love will never fail

Meaning & Inspiration
Love Will Never Fail (I Corinthians 13) sets Paul's description of love to music. The first verse says love is patient and kind, has no arrogance or pride, seeks the good of others first, keeps no record of wrong or hurt, takes no joy in wickedness and rejoices in the truth, and endures through it all. The chorus repeats that love will never fail.
The second verse says prophecy will cease, knowledge will fade, speech will come to an end and even death will pass away, but believers will see the Lord face to face, and faith and hope remain. The words follow 1 Corinthians 13:4-13 closely, with 1 John 4:7-8 on love from God and Colossians 3:14 on love binding everything together. Its clear wording and steady chorus make it a fitting song for weddings and for any gathering that wants to reflect on love as God defines it.
