Meaning & Inspiration
“Worship Medley” gathers familiar language of reverence into a compact sequence of praise. It begins with the recognition of holy ground and God’s presence, then turns to the threefold declaration of God’s holiness before settling into repeated alleluias. That progression moves from awareness to adoration: the worshiper recognizes where God is present, names who God is, and responds with praise.
The opening section recalls the biblical scene in which Moses is told that the ground around God’s presence is holy. The central hymn text also reflects the heavenly worship described in Scripture, where God is acclaimed as holy without ceasing. Repetition is central to the medley rather than incidental; the sustained sounds and recurring alleluias create room for a congregation to remain focused on worship. Its words emphasize divine holiness, mercy, might, and the Trinity, presenting praise as a response to God’s character and nearness rather than to changing circumstances.
