Lyrics

Ooh Yeah
Whoo!

Sing
Shiloh!
The Kingdom is coming
Shiloh!
The Kingdom is near
Shiloh!
The Kingdom within us
Shiloh! (Listen)
The Kingdom is here

We have a hope
It is eternal
A living truth
That never fails
We have a promise
That we can stand on
And celebrate with expectation

Sing
Shiloh! (Whoo!)
The Kingdom is coming
Shiloh! (Hey Yeah!)
The Kingdom is near
Shiloh! (Oh, Shiloh)
The Kingdom within us
Shiloh!
The Kingdom is here

Take it Iz! (We have a hope)
We have a hope (It is eternal)
It is eternal (A living truth)
A living truth (That never fails)
That never fails (Oh we have a promise)
We have a promise (That we can stand on)
That we can stand on (And celebrate, celebrate)
And celebrate with expectation
Sing it

Shiloh! (Oh)
The Kingdom is coming
Shiloh!
The Kingdom is near (Sha lalalala lo)
Shiloh!
The Kingdom within us
Shiloh!
The Kingdom is here

Come on wave your banner, wave the banner
Clap those hands (Yeah)
Listen
He's the One who holds the scepter
He's the One who wears the crown
He's the One who reigns forever
Come adore Him here and now

Sing
He's the One who holds the scepter (He’s the One who wears)
He's the One who wears the crown (He’s the One who reigns)

Meaning & Inspiration

Doe Jones' "Shiloh" builds its entire structure around one repeated word, treating the name itself as a proclamation rather than a story. Each verse repeats the same four-line pattern - the kingdom coming, the kingdom near, the kingdom within, the kingdom here - moving through the same set of claims about God's rule without introducing a competing idea.

That progression closely tracks Luke 17:21, where Jesus tells his listeners the kingdom of God is not something to be observed from a distance but is already among them. The name Shiloh itself draws on Genesis 49:10, an older prophecy naming Shiloh as the one to whom the scepter ultimately belongs, a connection the bridge makes explicit by describing the same figure as the one who holds the scepter, wears the crown, and reigns forever. Rather than building toward a single climax, the song keeps returning to its opening chant, treating repetition itself as celebration - each return to "the kingdom is here" functioning less as new information than as a call to keep declaring what has already been said.
