Meaning & Inspiration
Honesty is a song about coming clean before God. The first verse says that He does not ask for perfection, so there is no need to pretend, and that holding secrets is heavy, so the singer will tell Him all and open the heart. The chorus declares that God wants honesty, not just part of the singer but everything, with no more hide and seek.
The second verse describes trusting Him as a friend, surrendered with hands lifted, safe with God, and the tag says there is no fear in His love. The bridge asks to remove everything between the singer and God and to purify until all of the singer is holy like Him. These ideas fit Psalm 139:23-24, 1 John 1:9, 1 John 4:18 and 1 Peter 1:15-16.
