Aflewo - KAMA AYALA Lyrics
Lyrics
Ngome Nyingine Sina,Kwako Ninakimbilia Baba
Ni Wewe Mwenye Kuniwezesha,Vitaniua Vishindi Haya
Ngome Nyingine Sina,Kwako Ninakimbilia Baba
Ni Wewe Mwenye Kuniwezesha,Vitaniua vishindi Kama haya
Kama Ayala Ayatamanivyo Maji
Ndivyo Moyo Wangu ukutamanivyo Yesu
Nijaze Nguvu Zako
Siku Zote Nikupendeze Wewe
Kama Ayala Ayatamanivyo Maji
Ndivyo Moyo Wangu ukutaanivyo Yesu
Nijaze Nguvu Zako
Siku Zote Nikupendeze Wewe
Kama ile Nguzo Ya Mbingu Mchana,Uniongozee
Kama ile Nguzo Ya Moto Usiku,Uniongozee
Hatima Yangu Ni Wewe Baba,Siku Zote Nikupendeze Wewe
Kama ile Nguzo Ya Mbingu Mchana,Uniongozee
Kama ile Nguzo Ya Moto Usiku,Uniongozee
Hatima Yangu Ni Wewe Baba,Siku Zote Nikupendeze Wewe
Kama ile Nguzo Ya Mbingu Mchana,Uniongozee
Kama ile Nguzo Ya Moto Usiku,Uniongozee
Hatima Yangu Ni Wewe Baba,Siku Zote Nikupendeze Wewe

KAMA AYALA (AFLEWO 2021 TZ)
Meaning & Inspiration
I was listening to this, and the part about the Ayala—the deer—really hit me. It takes me straight back to the psalmist crying out for the water brooks. It’s that raw, desperate kind of thirst where you realize you’re going to dry up if you don’t get to the source. It’s honest about our weakness, right? We aren’t self-sustaining. We are built to need Him just like a deer needs water to survive. But then, as I’m sitting with that, I’m thinking about the way the song pivots to wanting God’s power so we can please Him. It feels right on the surface, but sometimes I wrestle with that—do I want His power so I can finally be "good enough," or am I just admitting I have nothing to offer on my own?
The imagery of the cloud and the fire is heavy, too. It’s pulling from the way God led Israel through the wilderness, providing exactly what they needed when they needed it. It makes me feel a bit small, knowing I’m just as prone to wandering and needing that constant, visible direction as they were. But I caught myself wondering about the line "Hatima Yangu Ni Wewe," which is about Him being our ultimate destiny. It’s a huge claim. Is He really the destination, or am I just using Him as a navigator to get to a place where I feel comfortable? It’s a strange thing to confront—this idea that my life is supposed to be wrapped up in His leading, night and day, just like the Israelites in the desert. It feels safe to sing, but living like that—being led by Him through every dark night and bright day—is actually pretty terrifying if you think about it. I’m still not sure if I’m ready for that kind of total surrender, even if the lyrics make it sound so beautiful.
