Ee Bwana, kumbuka yaliyotupata; Utazame na kuiona aibu yetu. Maombolezo 5:1	Remember, Yahweh, what has come on us: Look, and see our reproach.
Urithi wetu umegeuka kuwa mali ya wageni; Na nyumba zetu kuwa mali ya makafiri. Maombolezo 5:2	Our inheritance is turned to strangers, Our houses to aliens.
Tumekuwa yatima waliofiwa na baba; Mama zetu wamekuwa kama wajane. Maombolezo 5:3	We are orphans and fatherless; Our mothers are as widows.
Tumekunywa maji yetu kwa fedha; Kuni zetu twauziwa. Maombolezo 5:4	We have drunken our water for money; Our wood is sold to us.
Watufuatiao wa juu ya shingo zetu; Tumechoka tusipate raha yo yote. Maombolezo 5:5	Our pursuers are on our necks: We are weary, and have no rest.
Tumewapa hao Wamisri mkono; Na Waashuri nao, ili tushibe chakula. Maombolezo 5:6	We have given the hand to the Egyptians, To the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.
Baba zetu walitenda dhambi hata hawako; Na sisi tumeyachukua maovu yao. Maombolezo 5:7	Our fathers sinned, and are no more; We have borne their iniquities.
Watumwa wanatutawala; Hakuna mtu wa kutuokoa na mikono yao. Maombolezo 5:8	Servants rule over us: There is none to deliver us out of their hand.
Twapata chakula kwa kujihatarisha nafsi zetu; Kwa sababu ya upanga wa nyikani. Maombolezo 5:9	We get our bread at the peril of our lives, Because of the sword of the wilderness.

Vijana huyachukua mawe ya kusagia; Na watoto hujikwaa chini ya kuni. Maombolezo 5:13	The young men bare the mill; The children stumbled under the wood.
Wazee wameacha kwenda langoni; Na vijana kwenda ngomani. Maombolezo 5:14	The elders have ceased from the gate, The young men from their music.
Furaha ya mioyo yetu imekoma; Machezo yetu yamegeuka maombolezo. Maombolezo 5:15	The joy of our heart is ceased; Our dance is turned into mourning.
Taji ya kichwa chetu imeanguka; Ole wetu! Kwa kuwa tumetenda dhambi. Maombolezo 5:16	The crown is fallen from our head: Woe to us! for we have sinned.
Kwa sababu hiyo mioyo yetu imezimia; Kwa ajili ya hayo macho yetu hayaoni vema. Maombolezo 5:17	For this our heart is faint; For these things our eyes are dim;
Kwa ajili ya mlima Sayuni ulio ukiwa, Mbweha hutembea juu yake. Maombolezo 5:18	For the mountain of Zion, which is desolate: The foxes walk on it.
Wewe, Bwana, unadumu milele; Kiti chako cha enzi ni tangu kizazi hata kizazi. Maombolezo 5:19	You, Yahweh, abide forever; Your throne is from generation to generation.
Mbona watusahau sikuzote; Na kutuacha muda huu mwingi? Maombolezo 5:20	Why do you forget us forever, [And] forsake us so long time?
Ee Bwana, utugeuze kwako, nasi tutageuka; Zifanye mpya siku zetu kama siku za kale. Maombolezo 5:21	Turn you us to you, Yahweh, and we shall be turned; Renew our days as of old.
Isipokuwa wewe umetukataa kabisa; Nawe una hasira nyingi sana juu yetu. Maombolezo 5:22	But you have utterly rejected us; You are very angry against us.
