Hakika juu yangu augeuza mkono wake Mara kwa mara mchana wote.

Amechakaza nyama yangu na ngozi yangu; Ameivunja mifupa yangu.
My flesh and my skin has he made old; he has broken my bones.
Amejenga boma juu yangu, Na kunizungusha uchungu na uchovu.
He has built against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
Amenikalisha penye giza, Kama watu waliokufa zamani.
He has made me to dwell in dark places, as those that have been long dead.
Amenizinga pande zote hata siwezi kutoka; Ameufanya mnyororo wangu mzito.
He has walled me about, that I can't go forth; he has made my chain heavy.
Naam, nikilia na kuomba msaada, Huyapinga maombi yangu.
Yes, when I cry, and call for help, he shuts out my prayer.
Ameziziba njia zangu kwa mawe yaliyochongwa; Ameyapotosha mapito yangu.
He has walled up my ways with hewn stone; he has made my paths crooked.
Alivyo kwangu ni kama dubu aoteaye, Kama simba aliye mafichoni.
He is to me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in secret places.
Amezigeuza njia zangu, na kunirarua-rarua; Amenifanya ukiwa.
He has turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces; he has made me desolate.
Ameupinda upinde wake, Na kunifanya niwe shabaha kwa mshale.
He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
Amenichoma viuno Kwa mishale ya podo lake.
He has caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my reins.
Nimekuwa dhihaka kwa watu wangu wote; Wimbo wao mchana kutwa.
I am become a derision to all my people, and their song all the day.
Amenijaza uchungu, Amenikinaisha kwa pakanga.
He has filled me with bitterness, he has sated me with wormwood.
Amenivunja meno kwa changarawe; Amenifunika majivu.
He has also broken my teeth with gravel stones; he has covered me with ashes.
Umeniweka nafsi yangu mbali na amani; Nikasahau kufanikiwa.
You have removed my soul far off from peace; I forgot prosperity.
Nikasema, Nguvu zangu zimepotea, Na tumaini langu kwa Bwana.
I said, My strength is perished, and my expectation from Yahweh.
Kumbuka mateso yangu, na msiba wangu, Pakanga na nyongo.
Remember my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
Nafsi yangu ikali ikiyakumbuka hayo, Nayo imeinama ndani yangu.
My soul still remembers them, and is bowed down within me.
Najikumbusha neno hili, Kwa hiyo nina matumaini.
This I recall to my mind; therefore have I hope.
Ni huruma za Bwana kwamba hatuangamii, Kwa kuwa rehema zake hazikomi.
[It is of] Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail.
Ni mpya kila siku asubuhi; Uaminifu wako ni mkuu.
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Bwana ndiye fungu langu, husema nafsi yangu, Kwa hiyo nitamtumaini yeye.
Yahweh is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
Bwana ni mwema kwa hao wamngojeao, Kwa hiyo nafsi imtafutayo.
Yahweh is good to those who wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.
Ni vema mtu autarajie wokovu wa Bwana Na kumngojea kwa utulivu.
It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Yahweh.
Ni vema mwanadamu aichukue nira Wakati wa ujana wake.
It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
Na akae peke yake na kunyamaza kimya; Kwa sababu Bwana ameweka hayo juu yake.
Let him sit alone and keep silence, because he has laid it on him.
Na atie kinywa chake mavumbini; Ikiwa yamkini liko tumaini.
Let him put his mouth in the dust, if so be there may be hope.
Na amwelekezee yule ampigaye shavu lake; Ashibishwe mashutumu.
Let him give his cheek to him who strikes him; let him be filled full with reproach.
Kwa kuwa Bwana hatamtupa mtu Hata milele.
For the Lord will not cast off forever.
Maana ajapomhuzunisha atamrehemu, Kwa kadiri ya wingi wa huruma zake.
For though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.
Maana moyo wake hapendi kuwatesa wanadamu. Wala kuwahuzunisha.
For he does not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.
Kuwaseta chini kwa miguu Wafungwa wote wa duniani,
To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth,
Kuipotosha hukumu ya mtu Mbele zake Aliye juu,
To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the Most High,
Na kumnyima mtu haki yake, Hayo Bwana hayaridhii kabisa.
To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord doesn't approve.
Ni nani asemaye neno nalo likafanyika, Ikiwa Bwana hakuliagiza?
Who is he who says, and it comes to pass, when the Lord doesn't command it?
Je! Katika kinywa chake Aliye juu Hayatoki maovu na mema?
Doesn't evil and good come out of the mouth of the Most High?
Mbona anung'unika mwanadamu aliye hai Mtu akiadhibiwa kwa dhambi zake?
Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
Na tuchunguze njia zetu na kuzijaribu, Na kumrudia Bwana tena.
Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Yahweh.
Na tumwinulie Mungu aliye mbinguni Mioyo yetu na mikono.
Let us lift up our heart with our hands to God in the heavens.
Sisi tumekosa na kuasi; Wewe hukusamehe.
We have transgressed and have rebelled; you have not pardoned.
Umetufunika kwa hasira na kutufuatia; Umeua, wala hukuona huruma.
You have covered with anger and pursued us; you have killed, you have not pitied.
Umejifunika nafsi yako kwa wingu, Maombi yetu yasipite.
You have covered yourself with a cloud, so that no prayer can pass through.
Umetufanya kuwa takataka, na vifusi Katikati ya mataifa.
You have made us an off-scouring and refuse in the midst of the peoples.
Juu yetu adui zetu wote Wametupanulia vinywa vyao.
All our enemies have opened their mouth wide against us.
Hofu imetujilia na shimo, Ukiwa na uharibifu.
Fear and the pit are come on us, devastation and destruction.
Jicho langu lachuruzika mito ya maji Kwa ajili ya uvunjifu wa binti ya watu wangu.
My eye runs down with streams of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Jicho langu latoka machozi lisikome, Wala haliachi;
My eye pours down, and doesn't cease, without any intermission,
Hata Bwana atakapoangalia Na kutazama toka mbinguni.
Until Yahweh look down, and see from heaven.
Jicho langu lanitia huzuni nafsini mwangu, Kwa sababu ya binti zote za mji wangu.
My eye affects my soul, because of all the daughters of my city.
Walio adui zangu bila sababu Wameniwinda sana kama ndege;
They have chased me sore like a bird, those who are my enemies without cause.
Wameukatilia mbali uhai wangu gerezani, Na kutupa jiwe juu yangu.
They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and have cast a stone on me.
Maji mengi yalipita juu ya kichwa changu, Nikasema, Nimekatiliwa mbali.
Waters flowed over my head; I said, I am cut off.
Naliliitia jina lako, Bwana, kutoka lile shimo Liendalo chini kabisa.
I called on your name, Yahweh, out of the lowest dungeon.
Ukaisikia sauti yangu; usifiche sikio lako Ili usisikie pumzi yangu, kwa kilio changu.
You heard my voice; don't hide your ear at my breathing, at my cry.
Ulinikaribia siku ile nilipokulilia; Ukasema, Usiogope.
You drew near in the day that I called on you; you said, Don't be afraid.
Ee Bwana umenitetea mateto ya nafsi yangu; Umeukomboa uhai wangu.
Lord, you have pleaded the causes of my soul; you have redeemed my life.
Umekuona kudhulumiwa kwangu, Ee Bwana; Unihukumie neno langu.
Yahweh, you have seen my wrong; judge you my cause.
Umekiona kisasi chao chote, Na mashauri yao yote juu yangu.
You have seen all their vengeance and all their devices against me.
Ee Bwana, umeyasikia matukano yao, Na mashauri yao yote juu yangu;
You have heard their reproach, Yahweh, and all their devices against me,
Midomo yao walioinuka juu yangu Na maazimio yao juu yangu mchana kutwa.
The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
Uangalie kuketi kwao, na kuinuka kwao; Wimbo wao ndio mimi.
See you their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their song.
Utawalipa malipo, Ee Bwana, Sawasawa na kazi ya mikono yao.
You will render to them a recompense, Yahweh, according to the work of their hands.
Utawapa ushupavu wa moyo; Laana yako juu yao.
You will give them hardness of heart, your curse to them.
Utawafuatia kwa hasira, na kuwaangamiza Wasiwe tena chini ya mbingu za Bwana.
You will pursue them in anger, and destroy them from under the heavens of Yahweh.
