Njoni, tumrudie Bwana; maana yeye amerarua, na yeye atatuponya; yeye amepiga, na yeye atatufunga jeraha zetu.
Come, let us return to the LORD. For He has torn us to pieces, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bind up our wounds.

Baada ya siku mbili atatufufua; siku ya tatu atatuinua, nasi tutaishi mbele zake.
After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His presence.

Nasi na tujue, naam, tukaendelee kumjua Bwana; kutokea kwake ni yakini kama asubuhi; naye atatujilia kama mvua, kama mvua ya vuli iinyweshayo nchi.
So let us know—let us press on to know the LORD. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the rain, like the spring showers that water the earth.

Ee Efraimu, nikutendee nini? Ee Yuda, nikutendee nini? Kwa maana fadhili zenu ni kama wingu la asubuhi na kama umande utowekao mapema.
What shall I do with you, O Ephraim? What shall I do with you, O Judah? For your loyalty is like a morning mist, like the early dew that vanishes.

Kwa sababu hiyo nimewakata-kata kwa vinywa vya manabii; nimewaua kwa maneno ya kinywa changu; na hukumu yangu itatokea kama mwanga.
Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of My mouth, and My judgments go forth like lightning.

Maana nataka fadhili wala si sadaka; na kumjua Mungu kuliko sadaka za kuteketezwa.
For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

Lakini wao wamelivunja hilo agano kama Adamu; huko wamenitenda mambo ya hiana.
But they, like Adam, have transgressed the covenant; there they were unfaithful to Me.

Gileadi ni mji wa hao watendao maovu, umetiwa rangi ya damu.
Gilead is a city of evildoers, tracked with footprints of blood.

Na kama vile makundi ya wanyang'anyi wamwoteavyo mtu, ndivyo kundi la makuhani wauavyo katika njia ielekeayo Shekemu; naam, wametenda mambo maovu sana.
Like raiders who lie in ambush, so does a band of priests; they murder on the way to Shechem; surely they have committed atrocities.

Katika nyumba ya Israeli nimeona jambo bovu kabisa; huko uzinzi umeonekana katika Efraimu; Israeli ametiwa unajisi.
In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing: Ephraim practices prostitution there, and Israel is defiled.

Tena, Ee Yuda, wewe umeandikiwa mavuno, hapo nitakapowarudisha wafungwa wa watu wangu.
Also for you, O Judah, a harvest is appointed, when I restore My people from captivity.
