| Basi watu wa Israeli walikuwa wameapa huko katika Mispa, wakisema, Hapana mtu awaye yote kwetu sisi atakayemwoza binti yake kumpa Benyamini. Waamuzi 21:1 |
Now the men of Israel had sworn in Mizpah, saying, There shall not any of us give his daughter to Benjamin as wife. |
| Basi hao watu wakafikilia Betheli, wakaketi kuko mbele ya Mungu hata jioni, nao wakainua sauti zao na kulia sana. Waamuzi 21:2 |
The people came to Bethel, and sat there until evening before God, and lifted up their voices, and wept sore. |
| Wakasema, Ee Bwana, Mungu wa Israeli, kwani jambo hili kuwa katika Israeli, ya kwamba hivi leo ni kabila moja limepunguka katika Israeli? Waamuzi 21:3 |
They said, Yahweh, the God of Israel, why has this happened in Israel, that there should be today one tribe lacking in Israel? |
| Kisha ikawa siku ya pili yake, hao watu wakaamka asubuhi na mapema, wakajenga madhabahu huko, wakasongeza sadaka za kuteketezwa na sadaka za amani. Waamuzi 21:4 |
It happened on the next day that the people rose early, and built there an altar, and offered burnt offerings and peace-offerings. |
| Wana wa Israeli wakasema, Katika hizi kabila zote za Israeli ni ipi isiyofika katika mkutano kumkaribia Bwana? Kwa maana walikuwa wameweka kiapo kikuu katika habari za huyo asiyefika kumkaribia Bwana huko Mispa, huku wakisema, Hakika yake atauawa huyo. Waamuzi 21:5 |
The children of Israel said, Who is there among all the tribes of Israel who didn't come up in the assembly to Yahweh? For they had made a great oath concerning him who didn't come up to Yahweh to Mizpah, saying, He shall surely be put to death. |
| Nao wana wa Israeli wakaghairi kwa ajili ya ndugu yao Benyamini, wakasema, Kabila moja imekatiliwa mbali na Israeli hivi leo. Waamuzi 21:6 |
The children of Israel repented them for Benjamin their brother, and said, There is one tribe cut off from Israel this day. |
| Tufanyeje sisi ili tuwapatie wake hao waliosalia, kwa kuwa tumeapa kwa Bwana ya kwamba hatutawapa binti zetu ili wawaoe? Waamuzi 21:7 |
How shall we do for wives for those who remain, seeing we have sworn by Yahweh that we will not give them of our daughters to wives? |
| Basi wakasema, Ni ipi katika kabila za Israeli ambayo haikufika mbele ya Bwana huko Mispa? Na tazama, hakuja mmoja maragoni aliyetoka Yabeshi gileadi aufikilie huo mkutano. Waamuzi 21:8 |
They said, What one is there of the tribes of Israel who didn't come up to Yahweh to Mizpah? Behold, there came none to the camp from Jabesh Gilead to the assembly. |
| Kwa maana hapo watu walipohesabiwa, hakuwapo hata mtu mmoja katika wenyeji wa Yabesh-gileadi. Waamuzi 21:9 |
For when the people were numbered, behold, there were none of the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead there. |
| Basi mkutano walipeleka huko watu kumi na mbili elfu wa hao waliokuwa mashujaa sana, kisha wakawaamuru, wakisema, Endeni mkawapige wenyeji wa Yabesh-gileadi kwa makali ya upanga, na hata wanawake na watoto wadogo. Waamuzi 21:10 |
The congregation sent there twelve thousand men of the most valiant, and commanded them, saying, Go and strike the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead with the edge of the sword, with the women and the little ones. |
| Na jambo mtakalotenda ni hili; mtamwangamiza kila mume kabisa, na kila mwanamke ambaye amelala na mume. Waamuzi 21:11 |
This is the thing that you shall do: you shall utterly destroy every male, and every woman who has lain by man. |
| Nao wakapata katika wenyeji wa Yabesh-gileadi wanawali mia nne, ambao hawajamjua mtu mume kwa kulala naye; basi wakawaleta maragoni huko Shilo, ulioko katika nchi ya Kanaani. Waamuzi 21:12 |
They found among the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead four hundred young virgins, who had not known man by lying with him; and they brought them to the camp to Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan. |
| Basi mkutano ukatuma watu na kunena na wana wa Benyamini waliokuwako huko katika jabali la Rimoni, wakawatangazia amani. Waamuzi 21:13 |
The whole congregation sent and spoke to the children of Benjamin who were in the rock of Rimmon, and proclaimed peace to them. |
| Basi Benyamini wakarudi wakati huo; nao wakawapa wale wanawake waliowaponya wali hai katika hao wanawake wa Yabesh-gileadi; lakini hawakuwatosha. Waamuzi 21:14 |
Benjamin returned at that time; and they gave them the women whom they had saved alive of the women of Jabesh Gilead: and yet so they weren't enough for them. |
| Nao watu wakaghairi kwa ajili ya Benyamini, kwa sababu Bwana alikuwa amefanya pengo katika hizo kabila za Israeli. Waamuzi 21:15 |
The people repented them for Benjamin, because that Yahweh had made a breach in the tribes of Israel. |
| Ndipo hao wazee wa huo mkutano walisema, Je! Tufanyeje ili tuwapatie wake hao waliosalia, kwa kuwa wanawake wameangamizwa katika Benyamini? Waamuzi 21:16 |
Then the elders of the congregation said, How shall we do for wives for those who remain, seeing the women are destroyed out of Benjamin? |
| Wakasema, Lazima kuwa urithi kwa hao wa Benyamini waliopona, isiwe kabila kufutika katika Israeli. Waamuzi 21:17 |
They said, There must be an inheritance for those who are escaped of Benjamin, that a tribe not be blotted out from Israel. |
| Lakini sisi hatuwezi kuwaoza binti zetu kwa maana wana wa Israeli walikuwa wameapa, wakisema, Na alaaniwe huyo atakayempa Benyamini mke. Waamuzi 21:18 |
However we may not give them wives of our daughters, for the children of Israel had sworn, saying, Cursed be he who gives a wife to Benjamin. |
| Kisha wakasema, Angalieni, iko sikukuu ya Bwana mwaka baada ya mwaka katika Shilo, ulioko upande kaskazini wa Betheli, upande wa mashariki wa hiyo njia kuu iendeayo kutoka Betheli kwenda Shekemu, nao ni upande wa kusini wa Lebona. Waamuzi 21:19 |
They said, Behold, there is a feast of Yahweh from year to year in Shiloh, which is on the north of Bethel, on the east side of the highway that goes up from Bethel to Shechem, and on the south of Lebonah. |
| Basi wakawaagiza hao wana wa Benyamini wakisema, Haya, endeni, mkaotee katika mashamba ya mizabibu, Waamuzi 21:20 |
They commanded the children of Benjamin, saying, Go and lie in wait in the vineyards, |
| mkaangalie, kisha tazameni, kwamba hao binti za Shilo watoka ili wacheze katika hiyo michezo, basi tokeni ninyi mizabibuni, nanyi kila mtu na amshike mkewe katika hao binti za Shilo, kisha rudini nchi ya Benyamini. Waamuzi 21:21 |
and see, and, behold, if the daughters of Shiloh come out to dance in the dances, then come you out of the vineyards, and catch you every man his wife of the daughters of Shiloh, and go to the land of Benjamin. |
| Kisha itakuwa, hapo baba zao au ndugu zao, watakapokuja kushitaki, sisi tutawaambia, Kwa ihisani yenu tupeni sisi; kwa kuwa hatukumtwalia kila mtu mkewe katika vita; wala ninyi hamkuwapa wao, au kama sivyo ninyi sasa mngekuwa na hatia. Waamuzi 21:22 |
It shall be, when their fathers or their brothers come to complain to us, that we will say to them, Grant them graciously to us, because we didn't take for each man his wife in battle, neither did you give them to them, else would you now be guilty. |
| Wana wa Benyamini wakafanya vivyo, wakajitwalia wake, sawasawa na hesabu yao, katika hao waliocheza, wakawachukua wakaenda nao; kisha wakaenda kuurudia urithi wao, na kuijenga miji na kuikaa. Waamuzi 21:23 |
The children of Benjamin did so, and took them wives, according to their number, of those who danced, whom they carried off: and they went and returned to their inheritance, and built the cities, and lived in them. |
| Nao wana wa Israeli wakati huo wakaenda zao, kila mtu akaenda kwa kabila yake na kwa jamaa yake; nao wakatoka huko, waende kila mtu kuuendea urithi wake. Waamuzi 21:24 |
The children of Israel departed there at that time, every man to his tribe and to his family, and they went out from there every man to his inheritance. |
| Siku hizo hapakuwa na mfalme katika Israeli; kila mtu alifanya yaliyokuwa ni mema machoni pake mwenyewe. Waamuzi 21:25 |
In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes. |
