Alpha and Omega. Maybe the name matters more than the melody, I don't know, but it feels like the air gets thin when I try to wrap my head around a God who exists outside the clock. If my life is in His hands, why does it feel like I’m constantly dropping things or slipping off the edge of the cliff? Actually, wait, the burning bush didn't explain itself to Moses either, it just stayed there and scorched the earth while claiming to be the I Am. It’s strange, singing about a miracle working God while staring at the cracks in the sanctuary ceiling, wondering if the same force that held back the Red Sea is actually concerned with my rent or the way I can’t stop worrying. Who was, who is—it’s too big for my throat to carry without shaking, and honestly, I don't know if I’m praising Him or just throwing words at the ceiling to see if they stick.
It’s just noise.
Is it enough to just say the name until the doubt stops hurting?
