Lyrics
Verse 1
Ndomo uliponza kichwa
Chunga sana kinawachako
Usinene mabaya
Usinene mabaya
Baraka upate baraka
Ndomo uliponza kichwa
Chunga sana kinawachako
Usinene mabaya
Usinene mabaya
Verse 2
Leo unaongea juu yangu
Kesho yatakuzunguka wewe
Ukimtupia mwenzio kwenye kivuli
Kesho mwanga utaku kosa tena
Ukicheka machozi ya jirani
Ukililia nani atabaki
Kile unachokisema kwa hasira
Kinarudi moyoni
Kinapunguza polepole
Chorus
Wewe sema wema
Ukisema, sema kwa upendo
Wewe kata tamaa ya laana
Ukimwaga uchungu
Utakuna mwenyewe
Ndomo uliponza kichwa
Chunga sana kinawachako
Usinenne mabaya
Usinenne mabaya
Verse 3
Baraka upate baraka
Baraka, baraka
Baraka, ukitaka heri
Heri itarudi
Ukitupa moto
Moto utakuchoma
Ndomo uliponza kichwa
Chunga sana kinawachako
Usinenne mabaya
Usinenne mabaya
Verse 4
Ulisema hatafanikiwa
Sasa unaangalia kwa wivu
Maneno yako yanakufunga miguu
Unabaki pale pale
Unaumia kimya kimya
Ukimdharau aliye chini
Utakutana naye juu ya ngazi
Ukitia uchungu kwenye damu
Utasahau ladha ya amani moyoni
Chorus
Wewe sema wema
Ukisema, sema kwa upendo
Kosi wake sumu kwenye ndimi
Ukiwasha vita
Vita vita baki papo
Ndomo uliponza kichwa
Chunga sana kinawachako
Usinene mabaya
Usinene mabaya
Bridge
Utabaki eneo
Kuna mbegu inachipuga
Utapanda nini leo
Kesho utakuta shamba lako
Kwa kila laana
Kuna mlango unafungwa
Ukibariki wengi
Baraka zako zinaongezeka
Ndomo uliponza kichwa
Chunga sana kinawachako
Usinene mabaya
Usinene mabaya
Outro
Baraka upate baraka
Baraka, baraka
Baraka
Ndomo uliponza kichwa
Chunga sana kinawachako
Usinenne mabaya
Usinenne mabaya

Meaning & Inspiration
“Mdomo Uliponza Kichwa” by Soul Touch Brand is a Swahili song about the power of words. The title is a proverb-style warning that the mouth can injure the head, and the refrain tells the listener to be careful and not to speak evil, so that blessing may follow. The song returns to this refrain after each verse.
The verses give examples. What is said about others today comes back tomorrow, anger spoken returns to the heart, and bitterness poured out will be felt by the one who poured it. Someone who said another would fail later watches them with envy, and someone who despises another may meet them higher on the ladder. The chorus asks the listener to speak kindly and with love.
The bridge uses the picture of seeds and a field, and says that every curse closes a door while blessing others increases one’s own. The ideas are close to Proverbs 18:21, James 3:5-10 and Galatians 6:7. The song is a practical call to speak with restraint.
