Meaning & Inspiration
“Zulu Worship Medley Interlude” by Ntokozo Mbambo is a live interlude that strings together short Zulu prayers with English translations. The first part asks the Lord to cleanse the stains that dirty the soul and to make the singer more like Him. The second asks for purity of spirit and offers everything the singer has: “to you, to you, to you.”
The third part turns to trust, with the words “Kuwe baba” (to you, Father) and a statement of putting hope in Him. The last part is the call “Thula wazi, nginguThixo,” translated “Be still and know, I am the Lord.” The line is close to Psalm 46:10, and the request for cleansing recalls Psalm 51:2 and Psalm 51:10.
The trust in the third part is close to Proverbs 3:5-6. The sections are short and repeated, so they work as a sequence of prayers more than a story: cleansing, surrender, trust, and stillness before God. Hearing the Zulu and English together lets listeners follow the movement from confession to rest.
