Lyrics
Verse 1
You spoke into the darkness
And the darkness let go
You called the morning out
From a world that had no hope
If every star still listens
If the ocean still obey
Then I can trust the words
That you are speaking here today
Chorus
You have not lost your power
You have not changed your mind
The same voice that told the light to rise
Is speaking to my heart tonight
The same voice that made the mountains move
Is telling me I'll make it through
Verse 2
Be still, be still
You are not alone
Be still, be still
I am holding you close
The same voice that spoke the world to life
Is speaking to my heart tonight
Verse 3
You spoke above the water
And the storm became a road
You called the dead man living
And he walked out of the cold
So even in the silence
When I cannot hear you clearly
I will remember who you are
And what your voice has done before
Chorus
You have not lost your power
You have not changed your mind
The same voice that told the light to rise
Is speaking to my heart tonight
The same voice that made the mountains move
Is telling me I'll make it through
Bridge
You said let there be light
And there was light
You said peace be still
And the waves went quiet
So speak to me now
Speak to me now
Speak to me now
And my fear will bow
You said come out of the grave
And the dead man rose
You said I will never leave
So I know, I know
You are with me now
(Hey, you are with me now)
(You are with me now)
Outro
I am not alone
The same voice that told the light to rise
Is speaking to my heart tonight
The same voice that made the mountains move
Is telling me I'll make it through
Be still, be still
You are not alone
Be still, be still
I am holding you close
The same voice that spoke the world to life
Is bringing me back to life
Be still
Be still
The same voice is speaking still

Meaning & Inspiration
“The Same Voice” by May the Lord Studio is a song of trust built on the idea that the God who spoke in the past is speaking now. The first verse recalls that He spoke into the darkness and it let go, and that He called the morning out of a world with no hope. If the stars still listen and the ocean still obeys, the singer reasons, then the words spoken today can be trusted.
The chorus states it directly: God has not lost His power or changed His mind, and the voice that told the light to rise is speaking to the heart tonight. The third verse adds the storm that became a road and a man called out of death. Even in silence, the singer says, he will remember what that voice has done before.
The bridge sets short commands side by side, “let there be light,” “peace, be still,” and “come out of the grave.” These recall Genesis 1:3, Mark 4:39 and John 11:43, with Hebrews 13:8 on a God who does not change. The song is a quiet reminder to listen.
