“Every Tear” sets present grief beside the Christian hope that sorrow and violence will not have the final word. The verses name fear, hatred, war, hunger, sickness, and racial division without minimizing their damage. Against that brokenness, the chorus looks toward heaven and repeats the promise that God will wipe away every tear.
