Meaning & Inspiration
“Adoration” joins Eucharistic devotion with direct praise of the triune God. The opening verses bow before the sacrament and contrast limited human senses with faith. Salvation, honor, blessing, and majesty are offered to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, giving the song the language of a formal hymn as well as contemporary worship.
The refrain names Jesus as the Lamb of God and repeatedly answers his saving love with humble adoration. That title clearly echoes John the Baptist’s identification of Jesus, while the act of bowing corresponds to biblical scenes in which every creature acknowledges Christ’s lordship.
