Lyrics

Ombi langu Bwana nifike kwako,

Ingawa njia zangu ni nyembamba.

Nitembee nawe mwokozi wangu,

Dhoruba zijapo nitazishinda.

Mtakatifu Mungu mwenyezi,

Alfajiri sifa zako tutaimba.

Malaika wengi wanakuabudu,

Elfu maelfu wanakusujudu.

Ingawa giza linatuficha fahari tusione,

Wewe utatuwezesha mbinguni makao ya raha.

Nitembee nawe Mungu,

Unene nami kwa upole.

Ingawa njia sioni pana dhoruba baharini,

Mitego ya miguu elfu ukinishika mkono,

Anasa kwangu hasara tautika msalaba.

Hata mji wa Zayuni nitapata pumziko.

Hata mji wa Zayuni nitapata pumziko.

Kule mji wa zayuni (nitapata pumziko)

Kwetu mji wa zayuni (nitapata pumziko)

Kule mji wa zayuni (nitapata pumziko)

Kwetu mji wa zayuni (nitapata pumziko)

Mtakatifu Mungu mwenyezi,

Alfajiri sifa zako tutaimba.

Malaika wengi wanakuabudu,

Elfu maelfu wanakusujudu.

Ingawa giza linatuficha fahari tusione,

Wewe utatuwezesha mbinguni makao ya raha.

Meaning & Inspiration

Ombi Langu centres on a prayer for God's companionship through a difficult path. The singer admits that the way may be narrow and storms may rise, yet confidence rests in the Saviour's hand. The prayer is not for an easy road but for the grace to walk it faithfully, with earthly pleasures treated as loss beside the cross.

The song widens from personal prayer into worship. God is called holy and almighty, while angels and uncounted hosts bow before him. Its final hope looks toward Zion as a place of rest, suggesting that endurance receives its meaning from the promise of God's presence and a final home. The repeated request to be led gently also presents dependence as strength rather than defeat. Darkness may obscure the destination, but worship continues at dawn and trust remains fixed on the guide who can bring the faithful safely through.
