Equippers Worship - What An Awesome God Lyrics

“What An Awesome God” is built around a direct confession of God’s majesty, holiness, and universal rule. The opening declares Him awesome in worship and mighty in service, then moves to the image of every knee bowing and every tongue confessing Him as Lord. That language closely follows Philippians 2:10–11 and places the song within a biblical vision of worship extending beyond a single congregation.

The lines “Alpha Omega” and “Holy, holy” add images from Revelation to the song’s simple refrain. Revelation presents God as Alpha and Omega and describes heavenly worshipers declaring His holiness and almighty power. By combining those titles with the claim that God made heaven and earth, the lyrics move from congregational praise to a broader declaration of His authority and worthiness. Repetition keeps the central confession unmistakable: the God who creates and reigns is worthy to receive honor and praise, and all creation ultimately acknowledges His lordship.
