“Mountains Tremble” presents Jesus as greater than every opposing force. The central refrain pairs two images: mountains shaking and demons bowing at Christ’s feet. Repetition allows the choir and lead voice to dwell on that claim before the bridge names Jesus as bigger, stronger, and without equal. The later call-and-response applies the same confession to weakness, addiction, sickness, and other forms of bondage, making the performance both praise and a prayer for deliverance.
The spoken ending supplies the song’s clearest scriptural connection. It refers to faith speaking to a mountain and commanding it to move, language found in Mark 11:23. The picture of hostile powers bowing at Jesus’ feet also aligns with Philippians 2:10–11, where every knee bows and every tongue acknowledges his lordship.
