Cedarmont Kids - I Will Call Upon the Lord Lyrics

This short scripture song for children sets a verse from the Psalms to a simple tune. The opening line, "I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised," gives a clear pattern a young singer can learn quickly, and the promise "So shall I be saved from my enemies" ties prayer to rescue.

The second section turns from asking to praise. It declares that the Lord lives, calls Him the rock, and asks that the God of salvation be exalted. Repetition does most of the work here, so the words stay in memory and can be sung in a group, a classroom or a family setting.

The lyrics closely follow the wording of Psalm 18, which makes the song a practical way to introduce a biblical text through singing. The words move from calling on God, to trusting Him for salvation, to lifting His name high, a pattern found throughout the Psalms.
