Meaning & Inspiration
Now I See tells of moving from darkness and rejection to sight and joy through Jesus. The first verse speaks of being born to the darkness, cut off from hope, told not to hope for healing, and then seeing His face as lies fall away. The chorus says the heart bursts to life with delight in His eyes, the whole world is on fire, the singer knows whose they are and stands on His truth, because "I was blind but now I see."
The second verse says night turned to daylight and joy is the song, and the bridge says no one could take away the song or faith because the eyes were opened and the life changed the day Jesus came. The language echoes John 9:25 where the man born blind says he was blind but now sees, with Isaiah 42:7 on opening blind eyes, Psalm 30:11 and 2 Corinthians 4:6. Bright and declarative, it suits celebratory worship.
