Ashley Nassary - Sina Jina Lyrics
Lyrics
Jina lako lapita majina yote
Ni jina la Yesu
Yapo majina yalikuwepo ohooh
Lakini jina Yesu linaishi
Jina lako lapita majina yote
Ni jina la Yesu
Yapo majina yalikuwepo ohooh
Lakini jina Yesu linaishi
Sina jina lingine
Ila jina lako Yesu
Jina lenye nguvu
Ni Yesu, Ni Yesu
Sina jina lingine
Ila jina lako Yesu
Jina lenye nguvu
Ni Yesu, Ni Yesu
Sina jina lingine
Ila jina lako Yesu
Jina lenye nguvu
Ni Yesu, Ni Yesu

Meaning & Inspiration
When Ashley Nassary sings "Sina Jina," she hits on a truth that every believer needs to park their soul in: the absolute supremacy of Jesus. This track, which made its way to us back in the summer of 2019, strips away all the noise of our busy lives to focus on the only name that actually carries weight in eternity. When she sings that His name is above every other name, she is echoing the Apostle Paul’s declaration in Philippians 2:9-10 that God highly exalted Him and gave Him the name that is above every name, so that at the mention of Jesus, every knee should bow. We live in an era obsessed with brand power and titles, but Nassary reminds us that those things are just passing shadows. She highlights that while other names have come and gone, the name of Jesus stands because He is the Alpha and the Omega.
The core of the song rests on the Swahili confession "Sina jina lingine," meaning "I have no other name." It is a radical act of surrender. It brings to mind Acts 4:12, which tells us there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. When Nassary sings about the power within that name, she is tapping into the reality that the name of Jesus is not just a label but a force of deliverance. Whether it is healing, peace, or freedom, the power is inextricably linked to His identity. By choosing to cling only to His name, we are essentially saying that every other pursuit in life is secondary to the person of Christ. We get so caught up in searching for solutions or identities in our jobs, our social standing, or our bank accounts, but this track serves as a wake-up call that we are looking in the wrong places. If you find your identity in anything other than the One who holds the keys to death and Hades, you are building on sand. The gospel isn't about adding Jesus to your life as a bonus feature; it is about realizing that He is the only name that holds the authority to change your reality. Give Him the throne of your heart and watch how every other name loses its grip on you.
