Lyrics
Chorus (x2)
Hallelujah you have won the victory
Hallelujah you have won it all for me
Death could not hold you down
You are the risen king
Seated in majesty
You are the risen king
Verse (x2)
By your Spirit I will rise
from the ashes of defeat
The resurrected King
Is resurrecting me
In Your name I come alive
To declare Your victory
The resurrected King
Is resurrecting me

Meaning & Inspiration
“The Anthem / Resurrecting” by Todd Galberth joins two resurrection songs into one celebration of Christ’s victory. The first section shouts, “Hallelujah, you have won the victory, you have won it all for me,” and declares that death could not hold him down, naming him the risen King seated in majesty.
The second section turns the victory into the singer’s own hope: “By your Spirit I will rise from the ashes of defeat.” The line “The resurrected King is resurrecting me” connects Christ’s rising with new life for the believer, and “in Your name I come alive” makes that new life personal.
The claim that death could not hold him is close to Acts 2:24, the link between his rising and ours recalls Romans 8:11, and his seat in majesty echoes Hebrews 1:3. The tone is triumphant, and the repeated sections give the congregation room to answer with praise.
