Meaning & Inspiration
"A Picture of You" presents Christian life as a visible reflection of Christ. The opening prayer asks the Lord of light to shape the singer into an image through which God can work. It then names love, joy, patience, and self-control as fruit that the Holy Spirit produces, keeping the focus on character rather than outward display.
The chorus develops the song's central image by asking that a life become a " letter written by God's hand."
