Lyrics

Usione sijafanikiwa ukadhani nitabaki hivyo
Kwani kesho yangu ni Mungu anajua

Usione sijafanikiwa ukadhani nitabaki hivyo
Kwani kesho yangu ni Mungu anajua

Leo naweza kuwa chini sidhaminiwi
Naweza kuwa sina kitu hata cha kukufaa
Lakini Kesho yangu ni Mungu anajua eeh

Usione sijafanikiwa ukadhani nitabaki hivyo
Kwani kesho yangu ni Mungu anajua

Leo hata sina nyumba ninapangisha
Hata mali leo sina naomba omba
Lakini kesho yangu ni Mungu anjajua eeh

Usione sijafanikiwa ukadhani nitabaki hivyo
Kwani kesho yangu ni Mungu anajua

Naweza kuwa sina Gari wanipigia vumbi
Hata mavazi leo sina ni matambara
Lakini kesho yangu ni Mungu anajua eeh

Usione sijafanikiwa ukadhani nitabaki hivyo
Kwani kesho yangu ni Mungu anajua

Usionione jirani eeh, Usinichukie eeh
Usinidharau Jirani, eti kwamba ni mnyonge
Maana kesho yangu ni Mungu anajua eeh

Usione sijafanikiwa ukadhani nitabaki hivyo
Kwani kesho yangu ni Mungu anajua

Usinipime kwa leo maana ninakesho
Usinione kwa leo nina kesho
Usiniweke kwa mizani maana nina kesho
Iyo kesho yangu ni Mungu anajua eeh

Usione sijafanikiwa ukadhani nitabaki hivyo
Kwani kesho yangu ni Mungu anajua

Ni Mungu anajua eeh Tumwachie eeh

Meaning & Inspiration

“Kesho Yangu” answers present hardship with confidence that the future remains known to God. The singer names visible signs of poverty and low status—rented housing, few possessions, worn clothing, and dependence on others—without accepting them as a final verdict. The recurring statement that God knows tomorrow becomes the song’s central confession of hope.

The lyrics also challenge neighbors not to judge a person only by current circumstances. Material lack does not determine lasting worth, and public disregard cannot settle what lies ahead. This perspective is consistent with biblical passages in which God raises the poor and asks people to place their plans under his will. The ending, which leaves tomorrow with God, avoids claiming control over a particular outcome. Instead, the song locates dignity and expectation in divine knowledge, encouraging patience amid humiliation and trust beyond what can presently be seen.
