Lyrics

I hear God saying something big gonna happen I hear him whisper just keep your eyes on me He's getting ready to open doors no man can shut He's getting ready to tear down every walls that's been holding you up

So don't loose faith now don't turn away Keep your heart steady in the place you pray Because what he promises is on it's way And the blessing is closer than it's ever been today

Chorus Something big is gonna happen in your life God is getting ready to turn it around Something good is gonna make it right Chains will break and favor will abound So lift your hands, lift your eyes He's moving right before your eyes Something big is gonna happen God's turning it around

I can feel heaven shifting now Every closed door starting to sound, latch is moving, lock is weak, break through, stepping in your today All you gotta do is focus on him Keep your worship he will keep you spirit still Because when you trust, when you heal that's when his power is revealed

Focus on Jesus, he's the way Focus on his promise, he will not delay He's healing, restoring, making you new, every word he spoke he's bringing it through

Chorus Something big is gonna happen in your life God is getting ready to turn it around Something good is gonna make it right Chains will break and favor will abound So lift your hands, lift your eyes He's moving right before your eyes Something big is gonna happen God's turning it around

Something big. Focus on him. The miracle is near. That something God's turning it around.

Meaning & Inspiration

I’ve been sitting here with this song for a bit, just listening to the lyrics, and I’m honestly a little torn. There’s this heavy emphasis on God opening doors that no man can shut, which immediately pulls me toward Revelation, to that promise given to the church in Philadelphia. It’s comforting to think about God actually having that kind of authority over our circumstances, especially when things feel stuck or impossible. It’s like, when He speaks, reality has to shift. That part feels solid, like it’s grounding our hope in who He is rather than what we can force to happen.

But then, as I keep listening, I start feeling a little uneasy about how much the song focuses on the idea of a "big" event coming. We’re told that "something good is gonna make it right," and I catch myself asking if that’s really the core of the Gospel. Scripture talks a lot about chains breaking—I think of Acts where the prisoners are set free—but the focus there is always on the Kingdom, not necessarily on our personal turnarounds. I want to believe that everything is always about to get better, but I know that’s not always the path He walks us down. Sometimes the "something big" He does is just sustaining us through the middle of the fire, not pulling us out of it right away.

The song keeps pointing back to Jesus, saying He’s the way, and that’s the one thing I keep holding onto. If the "something big" is actually just a closer walk with Him, or Him changing my own heart instead of my situation, then maybe it lands right. But I worry about the expectation it sets. When we tell people God is "getting ready to turn it around," what happens when the next season is actually harder, or when the door stays locked? I’m struggling to reconcile the feeling of anticipation the song builds with the reality of picking up a cross daily. It’s a catchy sentiment, but I guess I’m still wrestling with whether "something big" is what I’m actually supposed to be looking for, or if I’ve just been looking for an easier life all along.
