Basi sasa, sikieni asemavyo Bwana; Simama, ujitetee mbele ya milima, vilima navyo na visikie sauti yako.
Hear now what the LORD says: “Arise, plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice.

Sikieni, enyi milima, mateto ya Bwana, na ninyi, enyi misingi ya dunia iliyo imara; kwa maana Bwana ana mateto na watu wake, naye atahojiana na Israeli.
Hear, O mountains, the LORD’s indictment, you enduring foundations of the earth. For the LORD has a case against His people, and He will argue it against Israel:

Enyi watu wangu, nimewatenda nini? Nami nimewachosha kwa habari gani? Shuhudieni juu yangu.
‘My people, what have I done to you? Testify against Me how I have wearied you!

Kwa maana nalikupandisha kutoka nchi ya Misri, na kukukomboa utoke katika nyumba ya utumwa, nami naliwapeleka Musa, na Haruni, na Miriamu, watangulie mbele yako.
For I brought you up from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery. I sent Moses before you, as well as Aaron and Miriam.

Enyi watu wangu, kumbukeni sasa alivyouliza Balaki, mfalme wa Moabu, na alivyojibu Balaamu, mwana wa Beori; kumbukeni toka Shitimu hata Gilgali, mpate kuyajua matendo ya haki ya Bwana.
My people, remember what Balak king of Moab counseled and what Balaam son of Beor answered. Remember your journey from Shittim to Gilgal, so that you may acknowledge the righteousness of the LORD.’”

Nimkaribie Bwana na kitu gani, na kuinama mbele za Mungu aliye juu? Je! Nimkaribie na sadaka za kuteketezwa, na ndama za umri wa mwaka mmoja?
With what shall I come before the LORD when I bow before the God on high? Should I come to Him with burnt offerings, with year-old calves?

Je! Bwana atapendezwa na elfu za kondoo waume, au na elfu kumi za mito ya mafuta? Je! Nimtoe mzaliwa wangu wa kwanza kwa kosa langu, mzao wa mwili wangu kwa dhambi ya roho yangu?
Would the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I present my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

Ee mwanadamu, yeye amekuonyesha yaliyo mema; na Bwana anataka nini kwako, ila kutenda haki, na kupenda rehema, na kwenda kwa unyenyekevu na Mungu wako!
He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

Sauti ya Bwana inaulilia mji, na mtu mwenye akili ataliona jina lako; isikieni hiyo fimbo na yeye aliyeiagiza.
The voice of the LORD calls out to the city (and it is sound wisdom to fear Your name): “Heed the rod and the One who ordained it.

Je! Hata sasa hazina za uovu zingalimo nyumbani mwa wabaya, na kipimo kilichopunguka, ambacho ni chukizo?
Can I forget any longer, O house of the wicked, the treasures of wickedness and the short ephah, which is accursed?

Je! Naweza kuwa safi nami nina mizani ya udhalimu, na mfuko wa mawe ya kupimia ya udanganyifu?
Can I excuse dishonest scales or bags of false weights?

Kwa maana matajiri wake wamejaa jeuri, na wenyeji wake wamesema uongo, na ulimi wao una udanganyifu kichwani mwao.
For the wealthy of the city are full of violence, and its residents speak lies; their tongues are deceitful in their mouths.

Basi, kwa ajili ya hayo, mimi nami nimekupiga kwa pigo liumizalo sana; nimekufanya kuwa ukiwa, kwa sababu ya dhambi zako.
Therefore I am striking you severely, to ruin you because of your sins.

Utakula, lakini hutashiba; na fedheha yako itakuwa kati yako; nawe utahama, lakini hutachukua kitu salama; na hicho utakachochukua nitakitoa kwa upanga.
You will eat but not be satisfied, and your hunger will remain with you. What you acquire, you will not preserve; and what you save, I will give to the sword.

Utapanda, lakini hutavuna; utazikanyaga zeituni, lakini hutajipaka mafuta; na hizo zabibu, lakini hutakunywa divai.
You will sow but not reap; you will press olives but not anoint yourselves with oil; you will tread grapes but not drink the wine.

Kwa maana amri za Omri ndizo zishikwazo, na matendo yote ya nyumba ya Ahabu, nanyi mnakwenda katika mashauri yao; ili nikufanye kuwa ukiwa, na wenyeji waliomo humo kuwa zomeo; nanyi mtayachukua matukano waliyotukanwa watu wangu.
You have kept the statutes of Omri and all the practices of Ahab’s house; you have followed their counsel. Therefore I will make you a desolation, and your inhabitants an object of contempt; you will bear the scorn of the nations.”
