Meaning & Inspiration
“This Is Your Church” by Victory Worship is a congregational song that prays for the church to be built by God. The first two verses describe the people gathered, giving honor and reverence, called by the Spirit as a chosen people and as sons and daughters, always standing as one in His presence. The chorus is the central prayer: this is Your church, God build it, with Jesus as the cornerstone.
The third and fourth verses ask for faithfulness to purpose, for light shining in the darkness, and for the gospel to be alive within the people, to shake cities and nations, and to send them out as one. The bridge turns to confidence, saying that the church stands on the rock of Jesus Christ, a firm foundation, and that no power of hell can overcome it.
