Meaning & Inspiration

We Fall Down portrays worship through surrender. Crowns are laid at the feet of Jesus, turning symbols of honor into an offering before the one whose mercy and love are greater. The physical image of falling down reinforces humility: status is relinquished, attention settles on Christ, and adoration becomes the central response to his character.

The repeated cry of “holy” then shifts the scene toward heavenly worship. Its language closely echoes Revelation, where elders place their crowns before God and living creatures proclaim his holiness, as well as the vision in which the Lamb receives praise. Repetition gives those biblical images room to carry the song. Instead of adding many ideas, the lyrics remain with surrender, mercy, love, and holiness. The closing declaration, “holy holy holy is the Lamb,” gathers them into a concise confession that Jesus is worthy of reverence and worship.
