Lyrics
You give us all we need and more
You give us all we want and more
Withholding nothing from the ones you love
You’ve been so so good to us
Surely I’d have fainted
If I had not seen Your goodness God
You are good
You are good
You are God
You are good
My soul will be forever grateful to You, Lord

Meaning & Inspiration
“Your Goodness” is a song of gratitude built from the conviction that God gives generously and withholds no good thing from those He loves. The opening lines describe divine provision as abundant rather than barely sufficient. From there, the lyric turns to a personal confession that the sight of God’s goodness has sustained the singer when strength might otherwise have failed.
That confession closely echoes Psalm 27:13, where hope rests on seeing the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. James 1:17 also supports the song’s picture of every good gift coming from God. The repeated declaration, “You are good,” keeps God’s character at the center, while the closing promise of lasting gratitude supplies the fitting response. Its language is brief and uncluttered, allowing provision, faithfulness, and thanksgiving to carry the worship from beginning to end.
