Meaning & Inspiration
“Grace” by Laura Story is a song written as a conversation between a struggling believer and God. The first verse confesses a proud heart and an unfocused mind, and admits that the singer takes credit for what God does through her. She says God gently breaks her and lovingly takes her, holding her as a father and molding her as a maker.
The chorus is the question: how many times will God pick her up when she keeps letting Him down, and how far does forgiveness reach? God answers in the first person, “My child, I love you,” and promises that as long as she seeks His face, she will walk in the power of His daily sufficient grace.
The second verse admits discouragement and unworthiness, and the last verse says that the price she could never pay was paid at Calvary, so she chooses to obey and give her life in return.
