Lyrics

Verse 1

If He never, ever does another thing
He's already done more than I could dream
Jesus, we love You
We give You the praise

Pre-Chorus

He gave His life for me
Just so I could live life totally free
We love You
We give You the glory

Hook

All for me
Did it all for me
He left His throne
Came to earth, unknown, for me
Did it all for me, did it all for me
And He took that walk
Carrying that cross for me
Did it all for me

Verse 2

I'm here to lift Jesus high
Till the world is lighted by His shine
Lord, You'll be forever glorified

Bridge

And everywhere that I go
I'm gonna make sure everybody knows
That You are, You are God alone

Hook

Did it all for me, did it all for me
He left His throne
Came to earth, unknown, for me
Did it all for me, did it all for me
And He took that walk
Carrying that cross for me

(Repeat Hook #2)

Meaning & Inspiration

All For Me is a song of gratitude for what Jesus has done. The verse says that if He never does another thing, He has already done more than could be dreamed, and the singer gives Him praise and glory. The pre-chorus recalls that He gave His life so that life could be lived free.

The hook turns the cross into a personal statement: "All for me," with the picture of leaving the throne, coming to earth unknown and carrying the cross. That fits Philippians 2:6-8, Galatians 2:20 and John 3:16. The second verse resolves to lift Jesus high until the world is lit by His shine, and the bridge promises to tell everyone, wherever the singer goes, that He is God alone. The lyrics keep the focus on Christ and are built for repetition, with a hook that a congregation can sing back easily, and a closing note to repeat the hook.
