Meaning & Inspiration
“Let’s Just Praise the Lord” by Gaither Vocal Band is a short, upbeat song of congregational praise. The chorus invites everyone to lift their hands to heaven and praise the Lord, and it repeats the call so that the audience can join in quickly. The words are simple and meant to be sung together.
The verse gives the reason: “Just the precious name of Jesus is worthy of our praise.” It invites worshipers to bow their knees and raise their hands, which is close to Philippians 2:10, where every knee bows at the name of Jesus, and to Psalm 134:2 about lifting hands in the sanctuary.
The verse also looks ahead to the day when He comes in clouds of glory to reign, and ends with happy voices praising His name. The song is a direct call to worship, joyful and easy to repeat.
