Ole wake yeye aliyeasi na kutiwa unajisi, mji wa udhalimu!
Woe to the city of oppressors, rebellious and defiled!

Hakuitii sauti; hakukubali kurudiwa; hakumwamini Bwana; hakumkaribia Mungu wake.
She heeded no voice; she accepted no correction. She does not trust in the LORD; she has not drawn near to her God.

Wakuu wake walio ndani yake ni simba wangurumao; makadhi wake ni mbwa-mwitu wa jioni; hawasazi kitu cho chote hata siku ya pili.
Her princes are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves, leaving nothing for the morning.

Manabii wake ni watu hafifu, wadanganyifu; makuhani wake wamepatia unajisi patakatifu, wameifanyia sheria udhalimu.
Her prophets are reckless, faithless men. Her priests profane the sanctuary; they do violence to the law.

Bwana kati yake ni mwenye haki; hatatenda uovu; kila asubuhi hudhihirisha hukumu yake, wala hakomi; bali mtu asiye haki hajui kuona haya.
The LORD within her is righteous; He does no wrong. He applies His justice morning by morning; He does not fail at dawn, yet the unjust know no shame.

Nimekatilia mbali mataifa, buruji zao zina ukiwa; nimeziharibu njia kuu zao, hata hapana mmoja apitaye; miji yao imeangamizwa; hamna mtu hata mmoja, wala hapana akaaye huko.
“I have cut off the nations; their corner towers are destroyed. I have made their streets deserted with no one to pass through. Their cities are laid waste, with no man, no inhabitant.

Nalisema, Hakika utaniogopa, utakubali kurudiwa; ili yasikatiliwe mbali makao yake, sawasawa ya yote niliyoagiza katika habari zake; lakini waliondoka mapema na kuyaharibu matendo yao yote.
I said, ‘Surely you will fear Me and accept correction.’ Then her dwelling place would not be cut off despite all for which I punished her. But they rose early to corrupt all their deeds.

Basi ningojeni, asema Bwana, hata siku ile nitakapoondoka kuteka mateka; maana nimeazimia kuwakusanya mataifa, ili nizikutanishe falme, nipate kuwamwagia ghadhabu yangu; naam, ukali wote wa hasira yangu; kwa maana dunia yote itateketezwa kwa moto wa wivu wangu.
Therefore wait for Me,” declares the LORD, “until the day I rise to testify. For My decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out upon them My indignation—all My burning anger. For all the earth will be consumed by the fire of My jealousy.

Maana hapo ndipo nitakapowarudishia mataifa lugha iliyo safi, wapate kuliitia jina la Bwana, wamtumikie kwa nia moja.
For then I will restore pure lips to the peoples, that all may call upon the name of the LORD and serve Him shoulder to shoulder.

Maana toka nchi iliyo mbali na mito ya Kushi, waniombao dua, yaani, binti za watu wangu waliotawanyika, wataleta matoleo yangu.
From beyond the rivers of Cush My worshipers, My scattered people, will bring Me an offering.

Siku ile hutatahayarikia matendo yako yote uliyoniasi; maana hapo nitawaondoa watu wako wanaotakabari na kujivuna, wasiwe kati yako, wala hutatakabari tena katika mlima wangu mtakatifu.
On that day you will not be put to shame for any of the deeds by which you have transgressed against Me. For then I will remove from among you those who rejoice in their pride, and you will never again be haughty on My holy mountain.

Lakini nitasaza ndani yako watu walioonewa na maskini, nao watalitumainia jina la Bwana.
But I will leave within you a meek and humble people, and they will trust in the name of the LORD.

Mabaki ya Israeli hawatatenda uovu, wala kusema uongo; wala ulimi wa hadaa hautaonekana kinywani mwao; kwa maana watakula na kulala, wala hapana mtu atakayewaogofya.
The remnant of Israel will no longer do wrong or speak lies, nor will a deceitful tongue be found in their mouths. But they will feed and lie down, with no one to make them tremble.”

Imba, Ee binti Sayuni; piga kelele, Ee Israeli; Furahi na kushangilia kwa moyo wako wote, Ee binti Yerusalemu.
Sing for joy, O Daughter of Zion; shout aloud, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O Daughter of Jerusalem!

Bwana ameziondoa hukumu zako, Amemtupa nje adui yako; Mfalme wa Israeli, naam, yeye Bwana, yu katikati yako; Hutaogopa uovu tena.
The LORD has taken away your punishment; He has turned back your enemy. Israel’s King, the LORD, is among you; no longer will you fear any harm.

Katika siku ile Yerusalemu utaambiwa, Usiogope, Ee Sayuni; mikono yako isilegee.
On that day they will say to Jerusalem: “Do not fear, O Zion; do not let your hands fall limp.
17
Bwana, Mungu wako, yu katikati yako shujaa awezaye kuokoa; Atakushangilia kwa furaha kuu, Atakutuliza katika upendo wake, Atakufurahia kwa kuimba.
The LORD your God is among you; He is mighty to save. He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you with His love; He will rejoice over you with singing.”

Nitawakusanya wanaousikitikia mkutano wa ibada, hao waliokuwa wa kwako; ambao mzigo uliokuwa juu yake ulikuwa fedheha kwao.
“I will gather those among you who grieve over the appointed feasts, so that you will no longer suffer reproach.

Tazama, wakati huo nitawapatiliza watu wote wanaokutesa; nami nitamponya yeye achechemeaye, nami nitamkusanya yeye aliyefukuzwa; nami nitawafanya kuwa sifa na jina, hao ambao fedheha yao ilikuwa katika dunia yote.
Behold, at that time, I will deal with all who afflict you. I will save the lame and gather the scattered; and I will appoint praise and fame for the disgraced throughout the earth.

Wakati huo nitawaingizeni, na wakati huo nitawakusanya; kwa maana nitawafanya ninyi kuwa sifa na jina, miongoni mwa watu wote wa dunia, nitakapowarudisha wafungwa wenu mbele ya macho yenu, asema Bwana.
At that time I will bring you in; yes, at that time I will gather you. For I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your captives before your very eyes,” says the LORD.
