Basi Boazi akakwea kwenda mpaka langoni, akaketi pale; na tazama, yule mtu wa jamaa aliyekuwa karibu, ambaye Boazi amemnena, akapita. Naye akamwita, Haya! Wewe, karibu, uketi hapa. Naye akaja akaketi.
Meanwhile, Boaz went to the gate and sat down there. Soon the kinsman-redeemer of whom he had spoken came along, and Boaz said, “Come over here, my friend, and sit down.” So he went over and sat down.

Then Boaz took ten of the elders of the city and said, “Sit here,” and they did so.

Ndipo Boazi aliposema, Siku ile utakapolinunua shamba mkononi mwa Naomi, unamnunua Ruthuu pia, huyu Mmoabi, mkewe marehemu, ili makusudi umwinulie marehemu jina katika urithi wake.
Then Boaz said, “On the day you buy the land from Naomi and also from Ruth the Moabitess, you must also acquire the widow of the deceased in order to raise up the name of the deceased on his inheritance.”

Basi yule jamaa aliyekuwa wa karibu akasema, Mimi sitaweza kulikomboa kwa nafsi yangu, nisije nikauharibu urithi wangu mwenyewe; basi haki yangu ya kulikomboa ujichukulie wewe, maana mimi sitaweza kulikomboa.
The kinsman-redeemer replied, “I cannot redeem it myself, or I would jeopardize my own inheritance. Take my right of redemption, because I cannot redeem it.”

Basi hii ilikuwa desturi zamani za kale katika Israeli, kwa habari ya kukomboa na kubadiliana, ili kuyahakikisha yote; mtu huvua kiatu chake na kumpa mwenziwe; ndivyo walivyohakikisha neno katika Israeli.

Basi yule jamaa akamwambia Boazi, Wewe ujinunulie mwenyewe. Akavua kiatu chake.
So the kinsman-redeemer removed his sandal and said to Boaz, “Buy it for yourself.”

Naye Boazi akawaambia wale wazee na watu wote, Leo hivi ninyi ni mashahidi ya kwamba mimi nimenunua yote yaliyokuwa ya Elimeleki, na yote yaliyokuwa ya Kilioni na Maloni, mkononi mwa Naomi.
At this, Boaz said to the elders and all the people, “You are witnesses today that I am buying from Naomi all that belonged to Elimelech, Chilion, and Mahlon.

Tena, huyu Ruthuu Mmoabi, mkewe Maloni, nimemnunua awe mke wangu, makusudi nipate kumwinulia marehemu jina katika urithi wake, jina lake marehemu lisikatike miongoni mwa ndugu zake, wala langoni pa mji wake; leo hivi ninyi ni mashahidi.
Moreover, I have acquired Ruth the Moabitess, Mahlon’s widow, as my wife, to raise up the name of the deceased through his inheritance, so that his name will not disappear from among his brothers or from the gate of his home. You are witnesses today.”

Na watu wote waliokuwapo langoni, na wale wazee, wakasema, Naam, sisi ni mashahidi. Bwana na amfanye mwanamke huyu aingiaye nyumbani mwako kuwa kama Raheli na kama Lea, wale wawili walioijenga nyumba ya Israeli. Nawe ufanikiwe katika Efrata, na kuwa mashuhuri katika Bethlehemu.
“We are witnesses,” said the elders and all the people at the gate. “May the LORD make the woman entering your home like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the house of Israel. May you be prosperous in Ephrathah and famous in Bethlehem.

Basi Boazi akamtwaa Ruthuu, naye akawa mke wake; naye akaingia kwake, na Bwana akamjalia kuchukua mimba, naye akazaa mtoto wa kiume.
So Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife. And when he had relations with her, the LORD enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son.

Nao wale wanawake wakamwambia Naomi, Na ahimidiwe Bwana, asiyekuacha leo hali huna wa jamaa aliye karibu; jina lake huyu na liwe kuu katika Israeli.
Then the women said to Naomi, “Blessed be the LORD, who has not left you this day without a kinsman-redeemer. May his name become famous in Israel.

Naye atakurejezea uhai wako, na kukuangalia katika uzee wako; kwa maana mkweo, ambaye akupenda, naye anakufaa kuliko watoto saba, ndiye aliyemzaa.
He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age. For your daughter-in-law, who loves you and is better to you than seven sons, has given him birth.”

Basi Naomi akamtwaa yule mtoto, akamweka kifuani pake, akawa mlezi wake.
And Naomi took the child, placed him on her lap, and became a nurse to him.

Nao wale wanawake waliokuwa jirani zake wakampa jina, wakisema, Naomi amezaliwa mwana; wakamwita jina lake Obedi; yeye ndiye baba yake Yese, aliye baba yake Daudi.
The neighbor women said, “A son has been born to Naomi,” and they named him Obed. He became the father of Jesse, the father of David.

Hivi ndivyo vizazi vya Peresi; Peresi alimzaa Hesroni;
Now these are the generations of Perez: Perez was the father of Hezron,

na Hesroni akamzaa Ramu; na Ramu akamzaa Aminadabu;
Hezron was the father of Ram, Ram was the father of Amminadab,
20
na Aminadabu akamzaa Nashoni; na Nashoni akamzaa Salmoni;
Amminadab was the father of Nahshon, Nahshon was the father of Salmon,
21
na Salmoni akamzaa Boazi; na Boazi akamzaa Obedi;
Salmon was the father of Boaz, Boaz was the father of Obed,
22
na Obedi akamzaa Yese; na Yese akamzaa Daudi.
Obed was the father of Jesse, and Jesse was the father of David.
