Meaning & Inspiration
It's A Wonder Just To Know You is a song about letting go of the world's offerings to know God. The first verse says nothing this world offers can satisfy any longer because the singer has seen Him, so the hands are open and God is asked to take hold and draw the singer closer.
The chorus calls knowing God a wonder, names Him the mystery that calls the singer His own, and expresses a thirst for more, with hope and joy found in Him. The second verse lays down yesterdays and tomorrows, victories and sorrows, and the bridge calls Him the reward and worth everything, with no other God and no greater love. These ideas echo Philippians 3:8, Psalm 63:1 and Genesis 15:1, where God is called Abraham's reward.
