Kisha wale wakuu wa nyumba za mababa ya jamaa ya wana wa Gileadi, mwana wa Makiri, mwana wa Manase, katika jamaa za wana wa Yusufu, wakakaribia, na kunena mbele ya Musa, na mbele ya wakuu walio juu ya nyumba za mababa ya wana wa Israeli;
Now the family heads of the clan of Gilead son of Machir son of Manasseh, one of the clans of Joseph, approached Moses and the leaders who were the heads of the Israelite families and addressed them,

wakasema, Bwana alimwagiza bwana wangu awape wana wa Israeli nchi kwa kupiga kura iwe urithi wao; tena bwana wangu aliagizwa na Bwana awape binti za Selofehadi ndugu yetu huo urithi wa baba yao.
saying, “When the LORD commanded my lord to give the land as an inheritance to the Israelites by lot, He also commanded him to give the inheritance of our brother Zelophehad to his daughters.

Wakiolewa na watu wa wana wa hizo kabila nyingine za wana wa Israeli, ndipo urithi wao utatwaliwa na kuondolewa katika urithi wa baba zetu, na hiyo kabila watakayotiwa ndani yake itaongezewa urithi wao; basi urithi huo utaondolewa katika kura ya urithi wetu.
But if they marry any of the men from the other tribes of Israel, their inheritance will be withdrawn from the portion of our fathers and added to the tribe into which they marry. So our allotted inheritance would be taken away.

Tena itakapokuwapo hiyo yubile ya wana wa Israeli, ndipo urithi wa hiyo kabila ambayo wamekuwa ndani yake utaongezewa huo urithi wao; hivyo urithi wao utaondolewa katika urithi wa kabila ya baba zetu.
And when the Jubilee for the Israelites comes, their inheritance will be added to the tribe into which they marry and taken away from the tribe of our fathers.”

Basi Musa akawaagiza wana wa Israeli kama neno la Bwana lilivyokuwa, akasema, Kabila ya wana wa Yusufu imenena yaliyo haki.
So at the word of the LORD, Moses commanded the Israelites: “The tribe of the sons of Joseph speaks correctly.

Bwana ameagiza neno hili katika habari ya binti za Selofehadi, akasema, Na waolewe na waume wawapendao; lakini na waolewe katika jamaa ya kabila ya baba zao.
This is what the LORD has commanded concerning the daughters of Zelophehad: They may marry anyone they please, provided they marry within a clan of the tribe of their father.

Hivyo hapana urithi wo wote wa wana wa Israeli utakaotoka kabila hii kwenda kabila hii; kwa kuwa wana wa Israeli watashikamana kila mtu na urithi wa kabila ya baba zake.
No inheritance in Israel may be transferred from tribe to tribe, because each of the Israelites is to retain the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.

Na kila binti atakayemiliki urithi katika kabila yo yote katika wana wa Israeli, ataolewa katika jamaa moja ya kabila ya baba yake, ili wana wa Israeli wapate kumiliki kila mtu urithi wa baba zake.
Every daughter who possesses an inheritance from any Israelite tribe must marry within a clan of the tribe of her father, so that every Israelite will possess the inheritance of his fathers.

Hivyo hapatakuwa na urithi uwao wote utakaotoka kabila hii kwenda kabila hii; kwa kuwa kabila za wana wa Israeli zitashikamana kila mmoja na urithi wake mwenyewe.
No inheritance may be transferred from one tribe to another, for each tribe of Israel must retain its inheritance.”

Basi hao binti za Selofehadi wakafanya kama Bwana alivyomwagiza Musa;
So the daughters of Zelophehad did as the LORD had commanded Moses.

kwa kuwa Mala, na Tirsa, na Hogla, na Milka, na Noa, binti za Selofehadi waliolewa na waume, wana wa ndugu za baba yao.
Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married to cousins on their father’s side.

Waliolewa katika jamaa za wana wa Manase, mwana wa Yusufu, na urithi wao ukakaa katika kabila ya jamaa ya baba yao.
They married within the clans of the descendants of Manasseh son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained within the tribe of their father’s clan.

Haya ndiyo maagizo na hukumu, ambayo Bwana aliwaagiza wana wa Israeli, kwa mkono wa Musa, hapo katika nchi tambarare za Moabu, karibu na Yordani, hapo Yeriko
These are the commandments and ordinances that the LORD gave the Israelites through Moses on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho.
