Ellicott's Commentary

Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers(35) Sacar (wages) is probably right, not "Sharar" (Samuel). LXX. Vat. has "Achar," but Alex. "Sachar." Syriac, "Sacham."Instead of Hararite, Samuel has "Ararite," or "Adrite" (Syr.).Eliphal, the son of Ur.--Instead of this, Samuel reads, "Eliphelet son of Ahasbai son of the Maachathite." Eliphelet (the name of a son of David) seems right.
